Get Involved

  • Constitutional Review Committee: The QUFA Executive Committee and Council of Representatives have established an ad hoc Constitutional Review Committee and are seeking member participation. In response to queries and concerns raised about the status and operations of QULA (Queen’s University Librarians & Archivists caucus), this Committee is tasked with reviewing QULA and QUFA governance documents and service award criteria to make recommendations to the Executive and Council regarding changes to the QUFA Constitution, By-Laws, and Policies to regularize the relationship between QUFA and QULA. QUFA needs 4 to 6 members knowledgeable about the operations of QULA, QUFA and/or union governance. At least two members will be drawn from the Library and Archives membership. Committee work begins in spring 2024. The Executive Committee will review applicants and recommend committee membership to Council for final approval. Please contact QUFA Executive Director Leslie Jermyn at qufaed@queensu.ca if you are interested.
  • Caucus Participation: The QUFA New Faculty Caucus and Caregivers’ Caucus are looking for new members. The New Faculty Caucus, which supports and advocates for New Faculty (meaning QUFA members hired over the past 5 years) also needs a Chair. The Caregivers’ Caucus supports and advocates for members who are parents, guardians, and caregivers. A Caucus Chair is responsible for hosting meetings (approx. 2/year) and communicating with the caucus members. If you have any interest in participating in either or both of these groups, please send an email to Rebecca Hall at rh116@queensu.ca
