Announcements: University Pension Plan Update – October 2018

Dear Faculty and Staff:

Queen’s continues to work closely with the University of Toronto, the University of Guelph, and representatives from our bargaining units and non-unionized employees to explore the development of a Jointly Sponsored Pension Plan, as a way to best provide long-term financially-sustainable defined benefit (DB) pensions for our members into retirement while ensuring the plan remains affordable and sustainable. If approved by the membership of the existing plans, the new plan will be known as the University Pension Plan Ontario. Attached is the latest joint communication on that effort.

Over the coming months you will see an increase in the frequency of communication, along with information coming soon about Town Hall meetings being planned for mid-November.
