Concerned About Science Policies and Funding in Canada? It’s Time to Get Science Right!

Please join us on Thursday September 24th at 3-5pm, Botterell Hall Room B143 – All Welcome!

QUFA and the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) are holding a public forum to discuss the impacts of science and Tri-Council funding policies on research and researchers in the university sector. From the end of the Long Form Census to another federal budget with $0 new money for basic research and money being moved from fundamental research to industrial partnerships, the Canadian research landscape is undergoing profound changes.

John Smol (Queen’s Biology) will give the keynote address followed by comments from Annette Burfoot (Queen’s Sociology and CAUT Executive Committee) and Katie Gibbs (Evidence for Democracy Executive Director).
